The practitioners of black hat SEO recognize the fact that the search engines do not approve of what they are doing and that their site could get banned either temporarily or in a permanent manner.  Their aim is then to reach the top spot as quickly as possible to take advantage of the boost in traffic that it would bring until the site gets banned.

Black hat SEO techniques are those that use deception or those that try to trick the search engine into placing the site at a higher ranking. It takes advantage of the way search engines evaluate a site. One common black hat technique is to use texts that of the same colour as the background which make it invisible to the reader but would be recognized by the search engine.
